Optimum Shotgun Performance Shooting School: Good to Know

"Gil and Vicki, A big thanks from me here in the UK for improving my sporting clay scores by about 20%...and we haven't even met! Is this a first? I've been shooting about 10 months now. When I do something I like to do it well so from the beginning I've kept a record of all my scores (good + bad) from shooting Saturdays and Sundays. This is how I prove to myself I'm getting better - I don't tend to believe anyone else :) Right from picking up a gun for the first time, I've alternated between 4 different Sporting Clay Club layouts in my local area rather than just shoot the one ground - don't think I saw a clay presented in the same way for the first 3 months! The 'growing' pains of learing how to hit more were beginning to really hurt especially as I'm a natural athelete (+ obviously modest with it!) and all I've ever had to do was fine-tune my technique a bit to get me to an 'advanced' level for that sport - and in a short time. The advice I (asked for) and got on how to hit more pottery out of the sky seemed conflicting and my average monthly score at 6 months was a depressing 42%. A couple of lessons around this time had no lasting effect either. I wanted to know how things worked, why they worked like they did and what I needed to do based on this info. Fortunately I stumbled on your site. I read, re-read and read again every single article. I made a decision to TRUST what you said. I was right to do so. My average monthly score across all 4 grounds (+ a couple of sporting competitions) is now 61%. I am so proud of me! (...that slipped out...). But most of all I want to thank you for your generosity in sharing your advice. (Actually I secretly hope no-one reads it. Its too good!). If I ever get to Texas I will certainly be calling in to say thank you personally.
Best Wishes Nicky."
